In 2017, Jonathan took a job in the mortgage business and turned his focus from educating students to educating home buyers and real estate agents. Jonathan believes that knowledge is power, and he starts every single work day by reading mortgage guidelines and reviewing policy changes. He is a master instructor for Military Mortgage Boot Camp, and teaches CE courses for real estate agents on “How to present a VA offer that listing agents will accept.” He also works with a lot of first time home buyers and school teachers, and relishes the opportunity to work with “unique” deals that have been turned down by other mortgage bankers.

No longer a Dean of Students, Jonathan is now “The Dean of Mortgages” and is the founder of Steadfast Mortgage powered by Barrett Financial in Painesville, Ohio. As a mortgage broker, he no longer has to work with just one bank, and can shop around to over 140 different lenders to ensure that his clients are able to take advantage of the best mortgage products and rates that are available. He and his wife, Anna, live in Mentor, Ohio, and they love spending time with each other, as well as their kids Jack, Charlie, Ava, and Figo.
